Many dancers incorporate music into their dance naturally without consciously knowing the significance of a musical pulse, phrasing, syncopation, etc. However exploring these elements can further open/develop our musicality and to express it through dance. This workshop aims at building a bridge between the world of the dancer and the world of the musician.

Move beyond simply repeating figures in time to the music to a fuller ability to flow and fuse with the music

Mariel Altobello: Was born in Buenos Aires in 1971. She’s got a masters degree in Fine Arts. She studied ballet with Mercedes Quintero (American Ballet Theatre) and Virginia Hellman (Colon Theatre). Tango with Norma Gomez Tomasi and Ernesto Carmona. She lived in Brazil, Venezuela and Chile. She works. She does fisical butoh theatre with Gustavo Collini. Now she’s exploring tango butoh.

She trained with Rodolfo and Gloria Dinzel (teachers, dancers, choreographers, and tango researchers).

La Biandunga Duo: Formed by Bernhard Fingas and Matias Zlotogwiazda. These two musicians began working together in 2007. And have worked in B.A tango scene performing at different milongas and stages. They launched their first CD in 2008.

Bernhard Fingas was born in Germany in 1972. He has been living in B.A. since 2003 were he trained with Horacio Romo, Julio Pane y Osvaldo Montes. Matias Zlotogwiazda was born in B.A. in 1979. He studied in the conservatory “Juan Pedro Esnaola” and with Anibal Arias. He also works as a music teacher.
